How to Generate the Proper Report Format Using Visual Mall Manager POS System from RFCanon
Version 2.14 From the main screen of Visual Mall Manager, select "Reports>Daily Sales Report". Specify today's date (default) or any day. Uncheck "Print Check Register" as we do not know what this means. If you don't uncheck this box it appears that a second report is created which is OK and is ignored by the upload shortcut. WARNING: Do not uncheck the detail checkbox. Print Report. Select FILE output. Click the Browse ... icon. The VMM directory will be the default. Save file as sales.txt (or just click on the file "SALES.TXT" in the displayed list). Click OK. Click OK. (for some reason, a file overwrite warning is not given) Double-click on the SALES_UPLOAD shortcut on the desktop to do the actual upload. NOTE: Always be sure that the Upload Filename matches the saved file (sales.txt) and that SALES.TXT is selected as the Upload Filetype on your Store Page. It was noted that the filename is saved in uppercase on the computer. Everyday you will need to do the following: - Create a Daily Sales Report - Quit Visual Mall Manager as desired - Launch the shortcut That's it! Hints: - You need to upload each day separately. - If uploading more than once per day, after uploading each time you need to check your sales on the Report Page before doing another upload, otherwise, the next upload may not work. dtd: 07/09/2014Back to Store Page instructions
Troubleshooting To insure the correct report format: VMM uses the default Windows OS printer. If none is specified or the default printer is changed (which can happen when Microsoft does an update while you sleep), the report format will not be correct. Use Google to learn how to specify your default printer and make sure the default printer is your letter size printer and not your receipt printer.
Where to install the helper files: Install all three helper files in your VMM folder which is the same folder the SALES.TXT is saved. Create a shortcut for SALES_UPLOAD.BAT, rename it if desired, and save it in a convenient place (ie Desktop). Store Page should have filetype VMM and filename SALES.TXT
